Namiri Plains is positioned along the Ngare Nanyuki River in the Eastern Serengeti. As it’s one of the few locations in Eastern Serengeti with permanent underground water sources, game viewing is excellent. While exploring the grasslands close to Namiri Plains, you might be fortunate enough to come face to face with one of the most beautiful and unique wildcats—Manja, the melanistic serval—quite the celebrity in the Serengeti who has been featured by the likes of the BBC and The Discovery Channel.

Rooms

Namiri Plains has 10 en-suite tents with 1 family tent, all strategically placed to maximise the views. Bush immersion is the name of the game and the soothing decor invites total relaxation, aided by the outdoor bathtubs and enormous, shaded verandas. The area around the camp is a hive of activity, and you’re never far from the action (even in your tent), so we advise you to keep your peepers peeled at all times.

Activity

Embarking on game drives is the ultimate way to encounter the awe-inspiring big cats of the Eastern Serengeti. This region, closed for two decades to facilitate population regeneration, now offers a high likelihood of encountering lions, cheetahs, and leopards during your excursions. Recently, guided walking safaris have been introduced. Moreover, from November to February, witness the spectacular arrival of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest during the Great Migration.
