Owned and operated by ex-professional safari guide Nicolas and his wife Fabia, the emphasis at Chem Chem is providing first-class safari experiences, alongside conserving the area’s ecosystem.
Guests here can expect the best guides and five star service, however Chem Chem maintains a homely and welcoming feel and the atmosphere is informal and relaxed.
TARANGIRE
This gem of a park is famed for it's Elephant Migration which peaks from July to November, when approximately 3,000 elephant descend into the Tarangire swamp system in the peak of the dry season.
Rooms
Accommodation consists of eight tent-style suites, including one family suite, making Chem Chem well geared to younger travellers and ideal for families of all sizes. All tents are spaced well apart and raised above ground level and are accessed along wooden walkways. Bedrooms feature double or twin beds, bedside tables and lighting, a standing fan, two storage trunks, a tea-and-coffee station, plus a separate seating area. En-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, twin washbasins, a freestanding bathtub with shower attachment plus an outside shower. Every suite also has a private veranda from where you can spot the local wildlife.
LAKE MANYARA
Whilst it might be the smallest of the four parks on the Northern Circuit, Lake Manyara is arguably the prettiest. Two thirds is made up of lake itself, and its famous tree-climbing lions have become legendary.
Facilities
The camp’s buffet breakfasts, light lunches, and three-course dinners are enjoyed in the communal lodge which also houses the lounge and bar which has amazing views over the private reserve. Guests looking for a spot of pampering can head to the Amani Spa or those in need of a work out can make use of the camp's gym. In the shade of the trees, the swimming pool is the perfect place for cooling off between activities.
